Not a Valentine’s Special

While the messages of purity have gone forth long before this special day, those who want to do what they want to do will do it. I know this and I have peace.

They see us as old-fashioned talkatives, people who don’t know how to mind their business and are secretly pained to not have what they are “enjoying.” I know this and I have peace.

So today, I wish only to speak to those who have decided not to go the way of the strange woman. People who have decided to key into the inheritance of their lineage, traced down from our father Abraham, cutting through Uncle David and down to our Lord Jesus.

I wish to remind you that you are not alone.

You may be asking yourself, “Am I not mad like this?”

Or maybe you are new to the faith and this is your first Valentine’s day alone. Welcome, dear.

Maybe you had to refuse that girl’s gift or that boy’s token of love to avoid future stories-that-touch because you know his motives are not pure.

Maybe the ex you dropped for Christ is posting awesome pictures with the new bae or boo and you feel sad, don’t be offended in Christ. He has not done you wrong.

Hey! You are not alone.

We are many that have not kissed the face of darkness.

We are many that have not danced to the drumbeats of perversion.

We are more than seven thousand that still choose real love over sexual sin.

We are not only males or females, we are not only teenagers or young adults. We have the aged amongst us and even children. We are of different races and tribes, different hairstyles and body structures.

All of us together, we are one. We are puritans. Our gowns spotless, we await the coming of our Lord. What is one more day of wait compared to the glory of that beautiful day?
