I Have a Crush on Lady Justice

This beautiful woman I’m talking about today has been my phone’s wallpaper for about six months now and I’m not even considering changing her yet. How can I when every look inspires me for different reasons?

I know you know about Lady Justice but take a look at her again. Her blindfolded eyes represent impartiality while her scale is power itself (to me). She’s a judge; a law executioner. She wields that sword like she knows what’s up and is not afraid to use it. She doesn’t look like anything can get past her before she cuts it down.

She has different graphical and artistic representations on the internet but her core details remain the same. She’s my strong woman. She KNOWS the law and ATTACKS wrong interpretations of it. Ignorance will not seem like much of an excuse when her sword rises, will it?

When I see her sometimes, she reminds me of God – that power on her shoulders and that sense of absolute justice. Mercy influences God’s decisions often but you get the gist.

Other times, I see myself in her. It’s the elegance for me. Can you smell her power? Her feminity appeals to me too. She looks like someone that wakes at night and stretches her hands to the four corners of the world to declare God’s will over them – a spiritual legislator. Mama!

She reminds me of a parent that sees her son’s new weird best friend and without saying a word to him, goes to her secret place to put enmity between them. She’ll open her arms to him when he comes home crying the next day, of course.

She inspires me to be a writer who is not afraid of public opinion as she strikes out the wrong around her. The way that her blindfold is tight ehn, anybody fit chop small pain before she see who dey stand therešŸ˜…. Chai, to become like this woman!

I already mentioned this but look at those long legsā€¦and that gold sparkle. Doesn’t she look like someone who browses the latest shoes online just to gush and repost? My lady doesn’t look afraid or ashamed to be a woman. She embraces herself.

I don’t even know where I’m going with all thisā€¦

Whether Lady Justice is ministering to me as God or as a strong woman, her message is always clear though. She says, “Chioma, strength and truth!” “Chioma, sit up straight.” “Chioma, square those shoulders!” “Chioma, legislate!” “Chioma, Pray o!”

I’ve passed on this little punch with you as it pinches me. Will you now be the light you were meant to be? Will you now stop being lazy and weak? Will you wield your sword like the powerful person you are, my brothers and sisters?

Proverbs 31:25ā€-ā€¬26 NLT

She is clothed with strength and dignity, and she laughs without fear of the future. When she speaks, her words are wise, and she gives instructions with kindness.
